Troop 326 "Minute Man" Page
We endorse visiting the
42nd Brighton Scout Group knot site as not only are the knots demonstrated, but they have placed some interesting research about the knots as well. The 42nd Brighton Scout Group does not allow copying of their knots, as this is a unique service they have placed their heart and soul. We commend them on an outstanding job, and as you well note, they have won the Baden Powell Award for their site. We have placed direct links to their thoughtfully done animations below our picture links to animations that are here on this site. The Green Bar has established the "Minute Man" Contest as a fun way to learn the knots in our Troop Meetings. You will want to study the Knots that are a part of the contest.
Click on the Link or Image of the knots below to see them in action. The contest is actually simple. There are 6 pieces of rope hanging on a stick with a label for each knot on the stick. The Scout attempts to tie each of the identified knots as quickly as he can. The "Minute Man" is awarded to each scout that achieves all six knots in under a minute. In starting the contest there will be the "Leader of the Knots" and entitled to the trophy signifying this status. The person with the lowest time in the troop is the "Leader of the Knots".
