OPENINGS FOR MORE SCOUT PARTICIPANTS

The Jamboree Committee announced that there are still approximatly 8 openings for scouts interested in attending this mountaintop experience.

Troop Committee Formation

Congratulations and thanks to Mr. Adrian Amadeo, who volunteered to be the Troop Committee Chairman.  A number of other parents volunteered to help make this jamboree trip memorable for their scouts.  Additionally prior Troop Committee members, Jamboree Staff, are attempting to help.  But parents are reminded that in order to bring together the best and most economical Jamboree for their scouts, it is only possible with full participation of parents.

T-Shirt Design Competition Announced.

Troop T-shirt design is still open, Scouts and parents are encouraged to submit artwork.  The T-shirt Committee is open to all design suggestions.  The National theme of this years Jamboree is -On My Honor - Timeless Values.  Our CSP emblem has an aligator, pelican, and shrimp trawler in it's design.

Medicals

Mark Landry, 1st Assistant SM, announced that a group physical using a MD for that portion requiring the MD certification may be done at the COUNCIL SERVICE CENTER at a date to be determined.  Parents should complete all portions which  they have knowledge leaving only the portion that the physician should complete.

TEAMBUILDING DAY, REQUIRED ATTENDANCE, MARCH 5

This activity will be at Salmen Scout Reservation and will be only a day in length.  Hours and particulars will be announced. Volunteers are needed to help with meal preparation.  The official Jamboree Scout Uniform will not be needed for this activity.

JAMBOREE UNIFORM

Jamboree Uniform will be required for the May 21-22 campout, with Southeast Louisiana Council Jamboree Patch and Troop Jamboree numbers in place..

 

THE ACTIVITY CALENDAR IS UPDATED

A number of important and some mandatory dates have been set for the Troop so that everyone will have clear understandings and are prepared for one of the premier events in a scouts life.

 

Parent/Troop Committee nights are important so that parents can be sure their scout will recieve maximum benefit of this event.

Troop Campouts and Teambuilding exercises insure that the Scout is prepared and matched with the patrol that will benefit his experience best.  The Troop Campouts and Teambuilding events are EXTREMELY important to the success of the Scout and therefore considered mandatory.  Check the links above for the dates.

SOUTHEAST LOUSIANA COUNCIL CONTINGENTS

The numbers assigned to the two troops allocated to the Southeast Louisiana are Troop 1526 and and 1527.  Use this link to see where the camps are located

 

SCOUTMASTERS NAMED FOR 2005 SELC JAMBOREE CONTINGENT

New Orleans, 2/10/2004-

The council has named Gary Dolese and Stu Estrade as Scoutmasters for the two contingents of the Southeast Louisiana Council to the 2005 Jamboree.
